Porthole, SS Maheno - Print
Inside the magnificent SS Maheno, you can feel the emotion within its walls. Broken down & deteriorating from almost a century of salt washes, New life has embarked on the ship as the ocean slowly consumes more of the vessel. Carefully exploring the interior, I noticed a small porthole looking out to the abyssal waters. I thought about the irony of an old medicine ship that has crashed onto the shores, unable to escape its demise but still determined to help in any way possible. The SS Maheno serves not only as a shelter for friendly crustaceans and other creatures but also as a reminder of the unforgiving waters that surround the beautiful shores of Fraser Island. A serendipitous name, the Maheno, for it, means Island in Maori; she knew where she wanted to retire.
Each Print is signed, & printed on high-quality, cold-press fine art matte paper. This Print is part of a LIMITED EDITION series. Once stocks sell out, the Prints will no longer be available. Prints have an additional 1-inch white border for matting and framing purposes.
